We do not offer bulk billing. This allows us to provide longer sessions, maintain quality care, and ensure the sustainability of our practice.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens. To ensure fairness for all clients and maintain practice sustainability, the following cancellation policy applies:

Less than 48-hour notice Full session fee charged
48–72 hours notice 50% of session fee charged
More than 72-hour notice No charge
Genuine emergencies Considered case-by-case

Please note: Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for sessions that are cancelled or not attended, so the full fee would be payable.

Medicare Rebates

How to Access Medicare Rebates

You can receive Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year with a Mental Health Care Plan.

Visit Your GP

Book a longer appointment with your GP to discuss your mental health. Let them know you'd like a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and a referral to see a psychologist.

Complete the Assessment

Your GP will ask you some questions about your mental health and may give you a questionnaire to complete. This helps them understand your needs and create your care plan.

Get Your Referral

Your GP will provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan and a referral to a psychologist. You can ask them to refer you specifically to Meg Wilson Psychology.

Request Your Appointment

Contact us to request your first appointment. We'll need your referral details to ensure you can claim your rebate.

Claim Your Rebate

After your session, we'll process the Medicare rebate directly if you're registered for Medicare online. Otherwise, we'll provide you with an invoice to claim manually.

Good to Know

  • The 10 sessions reset each calendar year (January 1st)
  • After 6 sessions, you'll need to see your GP for a review to access the remaining 4 sessions
  • Your GP can re-refer you each year
  • You can't use Medicare and NDIS funding for the same session

Payment Methods

Session Payment

All medicare and health fund sessions are payable through Halaxy, our secure practice management system. Payment is taken at the time of service, and payment details are required to book a session.

Medicare Rebates

We can process Medicare rebates directly if you're registered for Medicare online claiming. Rebates are typically received within 24-48 hours.

NDIS Invoicing

We can invoice NDIS directly for plan-managed or self-managed participants. Unfortunately, we cannot take NDIA-managed participants at this time.

Financial Accessibility

We Believe in Accessible Mental Health Care

We understand that the gap fee can be a significant barrier for many people. While we cannot offer bulk billing due to practice sustainability, we're committed to finding ways to make our services accessible.

Options to Consider:

  • Sessions on your terms: We can make sessions work for you and your budget with no pressure on you to come every fortnight
  • NDIS funding: If you have a disability, you may be eligible for NDIS funding
  • Private health insurance: Some funds offer rebates for psychology (check your extras cover)
  • Workplace EAP: Your employer may offer free psychology sessions through an Employee Assistance Program
